Seasons Greetings Santa,
Here are the details for Saturday - December 10, 2022. The red tide begins at El Coyote on Beverly Blvd, at Noon!
Covid seems to be alive and well in Los Angeles, so please self test, stay home if you are contagious (we are happy to refund your sleigh pass - email us), and wear a mask. We will Ho rain or shine.
If you don’t feel well, stay home.
Tip the bartenders. Be kind, it’s been a hard couple years for us all.
Wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes.
Bring cash and small bills to tip/pay your bills.
Remember, the answer is SANTA!
We don’t announce the locations before the event. Part of the fun is being part of the red tide. But we always update the route via LA Santa on Twitter. And Facebook.
Download and print your own copy of the Naughty Carol Book (from the 2013 Santacon!).
Watch out for Clowns!
Los Angeles Santacon is a direct descendent of the San Francisco Cacophony Society. Most articles and videos about Santacon miss the history. This article about Joshua Tree Santacon in 2019 gets it right. We’ve kept true to the original ethos in Los Angeles.
The first SantaCon was held on Dec. 20, 1994, and featured 38 people.
One of the event's early participants, John Law, co-founded Burning Man.
And we’re still ho-ho-ho-ing in 2022!!
Start location
El Coyote, 7312 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
We start at Noon with Margaritas and Nachos. Look for the Red Tide on the patio.
More Sleigh Passes
Santa wrangled up another bus, so we are leaving ticket sales open until sometime tomorrow (Friday). Regular sleigh passes are $30. Or you can pay $40 cash on Saturday as long as there is availability.
Pick up your sleigh pass at the 1st or 2nd stop. Find one of the Santas not in charge, and they will check their list to see if you have been naughty or nice and give you the sleigh pass. Once you have the sleigh pass, stay with the Red Tide (what we call a group of Santas). One year we did have a pony!
Go until you can’t Ho-no-mo’
We’ve got a great lineup of locations this year, going until 8pm and beyond. There will be one bus departing the final location at 8:00pm to drop any Santa at the closest metro stop.
But if you want to keep ho-ho-ho-ing, Soulnova has invited Santa to the after Party at 1617 S Hope Street in Southpark, DTLA. Everyone dressed as Santa gets in for a discounted rate of $10 and a free shot at the bar. More details
